SAN DIEGO, Calif., April 28, 2026 — AscentX Medical, Inc., a company developing regenerative biomaterials for investigational use in minimally invasive applications, including programs being evaluated for potential use in stress urinary incontinence, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and certain aesthetic indications, today provided an update on leadership changes as the Company advances its therapeutic development priorities.
John Stiska has departed from his roles as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board. Larry Braga has been appointed Acting Chief Executive Officer and will lead the Company during the transition while a permanent CEO is identified.
Ascentx also announced updates to its Board of Directors. Dr. Gottfried Lemperle has transitioned from the Board of Directors to serve on the Company’s Scientific Advisory Board. Kevin Ernst has joined the Board of Directors. Ernst brings experience across securities, capital markets, and financial strategy, with prior leadership roles at Merrill Lynch, UBS, and the American Stock Exchange.
In connection with this transition, Ascentx has refined its operating priorities and is advancing its lead development programs, including the investigational G125 program being evaluated for potential use in gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), along with related platform work in urologic indications, including stress urinary incontinence (SUI). All product candidates referenced in this release are in preclinical development and have not been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or any other regulatory authority.
As previously disclosed, the Company announced the formation of its Scientific Advisory Board and ongoing intellectual property initiatives, including patent filings supporting its microsphere technology and delivery approaches. Ascentx continues to strengthen its intellectual property position and evaluate pathways toward clinical development and commercialization in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
In addition, the Company is reassessing the U.S. commercial value of its facial aesthetic programs and is realigning resources to pursue licensing opportunities for these programs outside the United States.
