PROF. GLEN LEHMAN, M.D., Chair of the Clinical Advisory Board

Since 1987 Professor Glen Lehman has served as a Professor of Medicine & Radiology, Division of Gastroenterology/Hepatology at the Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana. Professor Lehman served or has served as a consultant to various healthcare companies including Glaxo Smith Kline, Eli Lilly, AstraZeneca, Hoffman LaRoche, Enteric Medical, Wilson-Cook, Bioform, Endonetics, Olympus America, Boston Scientific.

From 1969 to 1972, Professor Lehman performed his residency and fellowship (Gastroenterology) at the Indiana University Medical Center. From 1968 to 1969 he performed an internship at Duke University. Professor Lehman received his M.D. from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1968.

In 1996 Professor Lehman was the recipient of the Rudolf Schindler Award presented by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

PROF. RAVINDER MITTAL, M.D., Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board

Since 1997, Prof. Ravinder Mittal has served as a Professor of Medicine in Residence at the University of California, San Diego and Staff Physician at the San Diego Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He has also been the Director of the Gastrointestinal Function Laboratory at the University of California, San Diego from 1997 to the present.

Prof. Mittal is a board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and has been in clinical practice since 1985. His Pre-Medical Certification Training included a clinical and research fellowship in gastroenterology at Yale University School of Medicine from 1982 to 1985. From 1979 to 1982, Prof. Mittal performed his residency in internal medicine at New York Medical College, Lincoln Hospital, Bronx, New York and from 1977 to 1979 he performed a rotating internship and junior residency in internal medicine at the Delhi University Hospital, New Delhi, India. In 1977, he graduated from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi University, New Delhi, India with a Bachelor in Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.

Prof. Mittal's clinical and research interests are in the area of gastrointestinal motility related disorders with special focus on swallowing disorders, esophageal disorders, problems related to the anorectum and pelvic floor disorders. He has National Institutes of Health funded research programs in the area of function.
